Sean Peter Raul Mendez ( Engl. By Shawn Mendes is by Peter by Raul ; b. On August 8 1998 ) – Canadian singer, songwriter and model. Mendes was born in Toronto , Ontario , Canada to Karen Rayment, a real estate agent, and Manuel Mendes, a businessman. His father is Portuguese (from the Algarve ) and his mother is English . He has a younger sister named Alia. Mendes grew up in Pickering , Ontario, where he attended Pine Ridge School.

Mendes started out by making cover versions of famous songs and posting them on Vine , thanks to which he gained a lot of fans. He has often been compared to Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber . Later Mendes participated in MagCon round together with other young artists, has become famous thanks to social networks. In 2014, Sean signed a contract with record label Island Records , that same year released his debut single, Β« Life of the Party Β». On March 7, 2019, Shawn Mendes began the “Shawn Mendes: The Tour” tour in support of the third album. The tour will host a total of 104 shows, of which 27 are in Europe , 49 in North America , 7 in Asia , 9 in Oceania and 12 in Latin America .

On May 3, 2019, the single ” If I Can’t Have You ” was released, the announcement of which Mendes posted on May 1 on his social networks.
