How to fix slow opening of my computer in Windows XP

Many users faced this problem of slow opening of my computer when they click it in windows xp. There are some solution to this problem and most of the cases the problem should be gone unless your pc is affected with virus.

Solution 1 for How to Speed up My Computer Opening:

1. Open My computer>>File Menu>>Tools>>Folder Options >>View

2. Uncheck the first checkbox which says "Automatically search for Network folders and printers"

Solution 2 for How to Speed up My Computer Opening:

1. You can also simply Disconnect the Map drives to solve this issue if you have any,

2. Just go to Tools>>Disconnect the Map Drives(Network Drives) and select the network drive to disconnect.

Solution 3 for How to Speed up My Computer Opening in Windows XP:

1. Sometimes it may be for the service called ‘windows image acuisitions (WIA)’ – which provides image acquisition services for scanners and cameras.

2. Open Start >> Run

3. Then type services.msc and press enter

4. Now look for the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) among services and right click on it to select properties.

5. Now Stop the service if it is already running by clicking the stop button and select the startup type for the service as disabled. (as shown in the image below)
